GIS Spatial Analysis – Tetra Pak

Requirement

gi Perspective were tasked to estimate the travel times and distances of fresh and long life milk from suppliers to retail outlets nationwide. The aim of the study was to build a realistic model of the supply chain to every retail outlet.

Solution

The travel times and distances calculated have been fed into a complete Value Chain Analysis undertaken by Tetra Pak, in which the carbon footprint of the fresh and long life milk can then be compared and help inform future business decisions.

Result

Ultimately, the milk packaging will carry a label in retail outlets which displays the relative carbon footprint of the alternative products.
