Spatial analysis for QED urban regeneration

Our GIS consultants help to identify development sites

Requirement

Property development company QED Sustainable Urban Developments Ltd focus on the regeneration and transformation of brownfield sites, seeking to unlock redundant plots through urban regeneration, time-based opportunities and meanwhile or interim use.

QED approached Lovell Johns with a request for spatial analysis to help identify the best areas for development opportunities.

Solution

Our GIS consultants created maps showing data on brownfield land supply, housing demand and rental rates across London. These were used to identify the most promising parts of the city for further investigation.

Lovell Johns sourced and reviewed alternative datasets on brownfield sites, and reported back on data quality and suitability.

The most relevant datasets were identified for showing available brownfield land sites in particular London Boroughs.

Result

Comprehensive spatial analysis led to maps and lists of potential sites compiled for target areas, which were used to drive the search for redundant plots.
