Maps for guidebooks – Rucksack Readers

Requirement

Rucksack Readers are a small publishing house producing detailed walking guides. Lovell Johns offered them a new method to produce their mapping from OS Open source data, therefore avoiding royalty payments.
Rucksack have a distinctive style which needed to be retained, so we worked closely with their designer to ensure we made the new mapping to the same specification as their existing publications.

Solution

Using OS open data, we exported the mapping in the correct style and added information as supplied by the client, such as walking routes, facilities and points of interest.

Result

The publishers were pleased with the new mapping: “thanks for all the efficient hard work”. Lovell Johns have subsequently worked with Rucksack Readers on further publications.
