ReD Fuel Cards, part of Retail Decisions (ReD), provides fuel management solutions to clients in the UK and across Europe. ReD Fuels’ services include fuel credit cards, network provision, fraud prevention, fuel bunkering and fixed fuel pricing for owner drivers, HGV fleet owners and private individuals.
LJ were contracted to develop a low cost, scalable and speedy internet mapping solution using the Google API. ReD Fuels supplied LJ with spreadsheets of UK and Europe wide locational data in the form of postcodes and Lat and Longs. Having geo - coded this data, LJ designed the Google API to be deployed with a back – end spatial database capable of speedy loading of fuel sites. For the UK’s 800 ‘Liquid Gold’ sites, the API loads sites by region and permits a full postcode search. For Europe’s diesel sites, the database can quickly display over 2,000 sites.
Future developments to the site include routing and ‘find my nearest’.
