planvu version 2 Launched
We have now launched the new upgraded version of our interactive mapping solution for online publishing of Local Authority Planning information, planvu V2. Version 2 release sees new functionality added in the form of drawing and enhanced panning tools. The drawing tools in particular, will enable a more interactive experience by allowing users to draw over the mapping and post back a point or polygon to the Local Authority officers.
Several authorities have already placed orders for Version 2 software and an upgrade incorporating these new tools is of course available. Implemented as a hosted solution or as an install, planvu has been bought as an easy to use interactive mapping solution to allow authorities to publish their maps and provide stakeholders with bi-directional links to HMTL textual information or indeed to any of the vendor specific e - consultation software solutions.
With planvu, councils can instantaneously publish data from their geographical information systems (GIS) to take account of any changes in planning policies. The user can then control how and what is displayed on the screen. Making representations is easy; users can move easily from policy documents to the map and back again, and planvu also links with major e-consultation software.
A major benefit of planvu is that maps can be quickly updated from GIS data throughout the LDF process, giving the public access to the most up-to-date information about local developments.
