Following the launch of planvu Version 2 announced in MapIT June 2009, we have now developed a brand new web page with links to several live sites. The new page can be viewed at:
Since June, there are 2 new and exciting developments to learn about the mapping software.
Firstly, we have developed a print facility allowing the user to print the map window in view at the time, thus giving the user printing at any scale chosen. The new print template also includes the appropriate council artwork, Ordnance Survey copyright notice and a scale bar.
Secondly, we have developed an administration interface or 'back end' to allow a council to update the mapping themselves. For clients choosing to have planvu installed on their own servers (such as the Norwich City Council example on the new website), this interface will enable a council to manage any updates to GIS overlays as the Proposals Map or Site Specific Map changes throughout the consultation phases of the Local Development Framework.
