planvu version 3 launched with enhanced options
Lovell Johns are pleased to announce the launch of the latest version of planvu, our interactive mapping solution, for online publishing of Local Authority Planning information. The software has been designed specifically to meet the needs of the Local Development Framework (LDF). Now at version 3, it has been extensively enhanced after comparison to other vendor offerings and we are confident that it includes all options and more than the competitors.
Available as a hosted solution or as an install, planvu is an easy to use interactive mapping solution to allow Authorities to publish their maps and provide stakeholders with two way links to Policy or other textual information. planvu also links seamlessly into market leading e-consultation software solutions.
With planvu, you can quickly publish data from your Geographical Information System (GIS) and maps can be instantly updated from the GIS data as it changes through the LDF process. This gives the public access to constantly up-to-date information about local developments and any changes in planning policies.
The user can control how and what is displayed on the screen through layers and themes. Map navigation has been improved to include the latest web standard tools. Powerful search with key word auto-complete make finding locations simple. Making representations is easy: users can move easily from policy documents to the map and back again. The drawing tools in particular, will enable a more interactive experience by allowing users to draw over the mapping and post back a point, line or polygon to the Local Authority officers. Printing, reporting and download tools have been further developed and permalinks allow users to store and embed map views.
The software is modular allowing you to choose the functionality you need. There is also an upgrade path from all earlier versions. planvu is compatible with the following versions of Safari(4.x+)/IE (6.x +)/Firefox (3.x+)/Opera (9.x+).
