Is your LDF streamlined....?
Recent proposed changes to the LDF are likely to increase the importance of the Adopted Proposals Map. For most Councils, the Development Plan Documents (DPDs)., especially the Core Strategy, are the real ‘nitty-gritty’ of the LDF.
Typically, the Core Strategy is accompanied by a ‘key diagram’ – an indicative map showing broad areas for development. However, the Government’s ‘Streamlining Local Development Frameworks’ consultation suggests that the Proposals Map could play a big part in all DPDs. It looks likely that Councils will be able to allocate sites as part of their Core Strategy not just in their Site Specific Allocations or Area Action Plans.
