Requirement
Oxleas NHS Foundation Trust provide a wide range of health and social care services in south east London, specialising in community health, mental health and learning disability services. With a workforce of around 3,500 people, Oxleas provide these services from over 125 sites across 3 London Boroughs. With so many sites and the range of health services increasing, the Trusts Property Services Department were struggling to demonstrate and provide scenarios of which services are offered at which locations. Oxleas approached gi Perspective with a need for an interactive map-based tool to allow Property Services to present current and potential service provision information for Senior Management and stakeholder groups.
Solution
We first consulted with the Trust to understand the key drivers behind the requirement, demonstrating applicable interactive mapping software for other clients. Our Consultant worked closely with Oxleas to explore and refine the detailed attribute data for each site and agree the specific functionality. Working to a fixed budget and timescales, the software development and interface design stages resulted in a beta version being ready in just a few weeks.
Result
The solution allows the Trust to clearly visualise their property locations over detailed base mapping, providing a means of filtering the services provided to allow scenario planning and produce better management information. Oxleas have also taken a Management Module which allows an Admin user to amend records in the database and immediately refresh the map.
