Taylor and Francis Group is an international academic publisher with offices in the UK, USA, Singapore and Australia, publishing over 450 journals and over 1500 new books each year. The Groups Marketing Department approached Lovell Johns with an enquiry for a map based promotional item for their Philadelphia conference. The idea was to have something pocket-sized for delegates to carry around with a map on one side showing the conference venues and recommendations for things to do and see, leaving enough room on the reverse for branding with company information.
Lovell Johns were able to offer the client their existing town plan of Philadelphia then update this map through editorial research for recent changes. The map was checked for any road network changes and also updated for hotel, Points of Interest and park information. Any new information was incorporated into the map, then globally restyled to reflect the corporate stylesheets. The client wanted particular attention to be paid to the naming, labelling and location of hotels to ensure delegate satisfaction.
The map was updated, restyled and brought together with supporting text into a finished Guide. Lovell Johns also organised the printing, folding and delivery of the 300 copies which were delivered within a 3 week period.
