Requirement
Lovell Johns were commissioned to develop a series of walking and cycling trails and information boards to commemorate the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee. The client liked a similar mapping approach we took for the Blackwater Valley Countryside Trust project.
Solution
The walking and cycling routes were digitised by our GIS Team from client-supplied marked up scans. With a priority trail developed first for approval, five maps were designed in total to a consistent style. The maps were designed to work at A1 paper size but are a mixture of landscape and portrait orientation.
The final graphics, with typesetting and brand alignment by the client’s Agency, were then printed onto vinyl and transferred onto 6mm DiBond aluminium composite material. These panels were then mounted into ten A1 softwood lectern-style information boards for local installation on-site.
Result
The ten lectern signs, situated at the start and end of each trail and featuring route highlights and QR codes, were launched in May 2023. The five trail maps will encourage exercise and access to the natural environment.
