160 maps for educational publishers
Requirement
Oxford University Press (OUP) is part of the University of Oxford and is a leading authority in educational publishing, producing over 6,000 titles annually. OUP publish Geography GCSE textbooks for leading exam boards AQA and OCR and were seeking a trusted and experienced map designer for their 2017 titles.
Solution
OUP provided the brief to Lovell Johns in the form of sketches, annotations and links to website images in December 2015, with a requirement to have approved print ready files available by March 2016. All maps went through a series of proof stages with certain maps requiring reprojection.
Result
In total, 160 separate map images of varying sizes and subject matter were delivered in under 3 months, allowing to OUP to hit their publishing schedule for the new academic year.
