Bespoke map illustration of the castle and its surrounding features
Requirement:
Grimsthorpe Castle is a beautiful country house in Lincolnshire set within 3,000 acres of rolling pastures, lakes, and landscaped woodland. The Manager had approached Lovell Johns at the NEC Holiday Park Show with a request to develop a new, up-to-date, custom map illustration to help with visitor orientation and enjoyment of all site features.
Solution:
Following close consultation with the client on their specific requirements and areas to be highlighted on the new map, a 3D illustrated style of map was developed. Two maps were drawn; a beautifully drawn map and Key of the Castle, gardens and surrounding features; also a multi-route Walking and Cycle Trails Map for exploration further afield.
As well as map design, Lovell Johns also printed and folded the pocket –size map leaflet on to a water resistant paper.
Result
10,000 maps were printed and delivered to the Estate Office. The maps were required for the opening of the site for the summer season and were delivered to schedule. The images will be used in the site’s new website and information booklet.
