Requirement
Harwell Campus in Oxfordshire is the UK’s leading science and innovation campus, a 700-acre site housing over 240 public and private sector organisations across Space, Health, Clean Energy and Quantum Computing. The Marketing Directorate approached Lovell Johns in 2025 with a need to develop a new up to date Campus Map which would concentrate on the key landmarks and show off the rural setting of the site.
Solution
The client referenced our 3D illustrated maps for Cheshire College. Following an inception call to confirm the area of interest, key landmarks and optimal angle, the site map was designed through an iterative process.
Result
The new map manages to convey the greenness of the site and the walking opportunities around the circumference of the campus. Road labelling is deliberately kept to a minimum and landmark buildings such as the Diamond Light Source are drawn in greater detail. The map can be used in print and digitally and is easy to update.
