Requirement
Salisbury BID (Business Improvement District) is a not-for-profit organisation, funded by and representing the businesses of Salisbury in Wiltshire. The BID delivers projects and services outside of the Council remit and approached Lovell Johns with an interest in developing a custom Map for the city’s businesses.
Solution
Following consultation on possible styles and finishes, a watercolour style map was selected by the various stakeholders as most in keeping with Salisbury and a site visit was arranged for reference gathering and fact-finding. The A3 size leaflet features two maps; an artistic large-scale map using hand-drawn illustrations to highlight key features of the city; and a smaller-scale zoomed-out map of the city within the main access roads. A separate custom illustration of the Cathedral for the front cover was also commissioned.
Result
An initial print run of 50,000 A3 leaflets, folding to A6, was printed by Lovell Johns. Since the 2023 launch, a small map edit and reprint of 50,000 has been provided. The map can be seen at Salisbury City Map – Salisbury BID.
