Requirement
No Fuss Travel are a young independent travel publisher with a range of innovative titles. Writing practical, no-nonsense guidebooks designed to make travel simple, enjoyable and stress-free, they cover Road Trip guidebooks, Couples Weekends Away and city guides. No Fuss had been producing maps in-house to a basic level and were seeking to elevate them to a more detailed and stylistic level.
Solution
The base mapping features road networks, water features, cities / towns / villages and hill shading – all extracted in-house from open data sources. The A2 overview and A4 detailed sheet maps provide navigation at regional levels and contain visitor attractions, key landmarks and campsites. Points of Interest described in the guidebooks are cross-referenced on the maps with suitable labels and icons.
Result
With an established design template, the publisher can now quickly commission new maps to support their publishing programme. To date we have produced maps for the Peak District, Dumfries and Galloway and Spain.
