Requirement
Held every three years, the World Petroleum Congress and Exhibition is the largest and most reputable oil and gas industry gathering in the world. The 20th World Petroleum Congress was hosted by Qatar Petroleum and took place at the Qatar National Convention Centre (QNCC) in Doha, Qatar, from 4-8 December 2011. Our client approached Lovell Johns with the idea of developing a bespoke Middle East Oil and Gas Resources Map as a promotional tool for a major event sponsor.
Solution
After close consultation with the client on the preferred base map style, editorial research was undertaken into sources of overlay information such as Pipelines, Fields, Refineries and Terminals. This desktop research was very extensive and compared several sources to ensure consistency of information. Inset maps were developed for congested areas and statistical data graphics added to the map template.
Result
After several rounds of proofing a final print ready file was provided for large format printing and inclusion into the official Guide. The promotional map had a great visual impact for all Congress visitors.
