Requirement
Country Creatures project manage the refurbishment of hotels and pubs in the Cotswolds and then oversee the operation of the sites. They came to Lovell Johns with a requirement for leaflets to promote local walls around two of their hospitality locations – The Swan in Ascott under Wychwood and the Double Red Duke in Clanfield. The client favoured black and white hand drawn maps with the suggested walks added in an accent colour, with sketch-type illustrations of local landmarks and points of interest.
Map Solution
Lovell Johns’ artist mocked up early images of the maps with roughs of the illustrations, so the client could see the level of detail and comment on the location of the feature drawings and walking routes showing things to do in the Cotswolds. Once approved, these sketches were drawn up as final images with hand lettering and the rustic style required. A cover was added to each map and final print files made.
