Large scale travel brochure mapping for a luxury travel provider
Belmond provide luxury hotels, trains and river cruises, including the Venice-Simplon Orient Express. Having worked with us previously, they were delighted to come back to us with very specific mapping needs for a major new project. Belmond were seeking a new range of travel brochure maps, covering 46 products across 22 countries, which would work both offline and online.
From our initial discussions, it became clear that a hand drawn style of travel brochure map was preferred. We began with a process of sample creation over the coming weeks. In parallel we provided a quotation for the client covering the full range of maps across 5 different styles and formats.
As well as country and regional level maps, highly illustrated resort maps were produced for 31 of the hotels/resorts. Production on the maps began in June 2017 following final design sign-offs, and took around 6 months to complete. All the maps went through a series of proof stages, including in-resort checking by the hotels.
We supplied a total of 74 maps covering 4 continents and 35 resorts/hotels. Belmond were delivered the maps as editable EPS files to aid in further artwork adjustment within their marketing brochures.
Adrian Hulf, Artistic Director of Belmond, commended our work and commented “You’ve been instrumental in helping us find a language for producing our maps, something we hadn’t previously had a brand view on. Now they all look consistent across all channels and media.’’
