Lovell Johns was one of the contributing companies that were commissioned to work on the project by Millennium House. Our editorial experience and technical expertise were crucial to delivering this atlas and the work was carried out to a strict timetable and budget. Happily this stood us in good stead with our customer and our experience on database driven atlas mapping made the project wholly achievable, although not without its challenges. After all this was a new, ground breaking project for Millennium House, who have to be congratulated on such a brave undertaking, backed by quality market perception on their part.
The task was fairly straightforward in it”s requirement. We used ESRI ARC GIS and Maplex software in the production and this workflow is what Lovell Johns have developed over a long period of time. Our experience in the integration of carrying out the editorial tasks and the developed software capabilities made a daunting project wholly achievable and we have been congratulated by the publisher as being the one company that really helped the cause and delivered quality, on time and on budget. Quite a plaudit that we are proud of.
If you have not seen the atlas then just take a little time to search for it on the web. You will notice the unique product has quite a presence on the search engines and you can wonder at it”s luxury quality – as well as it”s sheer size.
Perhaps we were lucky to be involved but we are also proud to be associated with such an innovative publishing project.
By the way – I did say ” currently, the largest atlas in the world” – who knows what the future holds!!
