A new Government strategy has been launched which will ultimately provide better location based information for decision makers in both Private and Public sectors. Published in November 2008 by the Department for Communities and Local Government, the Location Strategy will seek to solve the inherent problems of different organisations’ geographic information being inaccessible. By creating a consistent framework, the Strategy will exploit geographic information datasets to policy makers and provide increased value to areas such as retail, construction, health, security and insurance.
