Illustrated Maps
Illustrated maps are a popular style of map when trying to convey a particular sense of identity or place and are increasingly used in signage for wayfinding projects, town centre arrival points and campus and college mapping. Illustrated maps can also help to give a sense of orientation in a new town or city and encourage a visitor to spend more time and seek out further attractions.

How we create an Illustrated Map
Lovell Johns typically provide bespoke illustrated maps for clients as one off commissions with a large element of the design being the design of key landmarks. Interesting buildings and features are often shown in 3D to bring the illustrated map to life, from the addition of a single landmark in 3D aspect, through to a complete illustrated town centre or country map.
We provide different styles of illustrated map such as hand drawn illustrations, graphical 3D building views and also illustrated maps drawn in a cartoon style.
